I need some help locating my family's missing link. My grandmother was Adelaide Beatrice Cole from Manchester England. She was born in 1891. She married Bertram Garside and they moved to Canada. So far so good. Now for the hard part. She lost touch with her family. I have been piecing it together but have hit a snag. She had a sister whose name I do not know. It may have been Gertrude. A cousin can remember a sister that was nicknamed Dolly. The sister married a man named William Wood. They lived on Lansdowne Street in Didsbury England. They had 4 sons from what I can gather. Their names were Raymond, Alan, John and George. George served in WW2. John would be about 75 today. Does anyone know of this family? If I can find the sister's first name then I will perhaps be able to confirm if I am looking at the correct Cole family. Adelaide had another sister named Jessie. Her husband was Alfred. So my Wood family would have known an Unclec Alf and an Aunt Jessie who ran a pub. I would love to know more about the Wood family. Thanks for any help that you can provide.
