Hi Lyn Thank you for your reply. You wrote: 'Your question is a little ambiguous to me.' and ' Why do you ask?' I ask because I'm trying to find a baptismal certificate for ggrandmother Ann LLEWELLEN born 1830 in either Sheffield or Rochdale (according to which census one is reading). I am trying to verify her mother's name. The LLEWELLYN family (Interchangeable spelling) may well have been non-conformist and so Ann could have been baptised at any time between 1830 and 1853 when she married in St. Chad's, Rochdale. I phrased my question in a catch-all way purposely - sorry about that. I should have teased it out. In the end I agree with you. It boils down to what the the incumbent at St. Chad's was practising at the time. I was hoping that some other Lister had a similar experience within their family to compare with mine. Kind regards Ruth
