Hi....this death registration looks promising: March Qtr. 1948 ANNIE MCCORMICK Age 81 Registered in Manchester 10e 277 mary lou In a message dated 4/9/2011 5:39:48 P.M. Mountain Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: Hi Listers, I am new to the list. I was born in Southport and a lot of my research is in Lancashire and Cheshire. I migrated to Australia with my parents and 3 of my brothers in 1950. The main names I am interested in are: Beresford Bingham Bamber Barton Fahey/Fahy/Fahay/Faby/Fay etc Heathcote Lewis Lomas Shenton Stanway Vesey All came from places like Ireland, Norfolk, Nottingham, Derbyshire, Cheshire etc and converged on Lancashire in the mid to late 1800s. Currently I am doing some work to find information on my elderly uncle’s grandfather and grandmother, Anthony McCormick and Annie Feeney. My uncle is keen to find out about his grandparents and it is not possible for him to do this himself. I have the information below. I have found some information but am hampered by not being able to find either person’s death. I am hoping someone on this list will be able to give me some pointers on other records for the Salford area that may be available. Currently I am looking for the death of Anthony McCormick who was born in Sligo, Ireland c 1859. He married Annie Feeney in 1881 in Sligo, Ireland Children: Mary born c 1886 in Malta Francis W born c 1888 in Karachee India Edward born 11 Nov 1888 in Quetta, Bombay India Thomas Victor born 28 Feb 1893, Pontefract, Yorkshire Anthony was a colour sergeant in the army. I cannot find his army records. They may have been destroyed. My problem is finding his death. Any advice welcome. I have subscriptions to both Ancestry and Findmypast and cannot locate him not matter how I search. I have also searched FreeBMD and the Manchester Burials online. I found one possibility in 1900, sent for the cert, but it was wrong. I understand Anthony and his wife are buried in the Moston Cemetery. They will do a search for £30 for the first year and £15 each successive year. I am happy to pay any charges, but my problem is without a date of death I could end up in the poorhouse. Family stories say they died in 1942 and 1943. However with no death record this could be way off the mark memories of over 70 years ago could be not quite accurate. Any suggestions or advice welcome. Perhaps there are some other records I could look under. If so I would appreciate suggestions, and directions if possible. Although my current aim is to find these two peoples’ deaths, I have a lot of information on the other names above and I am happy to exchange information. Was it definitely Anthony and not Andrew ? There's a likely candidate for Andrew on FMP's military records who joined the Manchesters and this death registration Andrew Mccormack 1943 Manchester Lancashire on ancestry of a 70 year old.
