1. Re: [ENG-MAN] trouble finding family in 1851

    3. I managed to have a little breakthrough with them! I ended up searching in 1841 for every Ellen (no surname) in Pendlebury and checking all those entries out. I ended up finding out that there was an Ellen Horsefield living with an ANN KIN there! That interested me so I checked the lancs OPC site for a remarriage of Ellen Kay to Horsefield and there she was! She was widowed between 1837-1840 and remarried an Abel HORSEFIELD in 1840 at Prestwich. The census image looks like Ann was originally recorded as KEY but somehow ended up on ancestry as KIN. Great news! Thanks for replying Irene :) -------------------------------------------------- From: "Irene Marlborough" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, September 01, 2011 5:27 PM To: <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [ENG-MAN] trouble finding family in 1851 > The family may be hiding in plain sight though it's tough not to find > them in 3 censuses.
