    3. I recently found my relative who was born in Pendleton and immigrated to Fall River, MA in the early 1870's and then in 1877 immigrated with his family to Sydney. I really never thought that I would find him. First I found a likely candidate on the passenger lists on Ancestry. I joined a couple of Australia Mailing lists and posted the family story of his immigration and death. He was killed by lightening and a couple of people on the lists pointed me to an inquest about a man with his name killed by lightening. That narrowed down the area and I sent for this man's death record. TheAustralian death record listed the wife's name and place of marriage (which was key to proving he was mine) and his surviving children and their ages. It also gave his parent's names and mother's maiden name. I have since been able to trace the family through Ancestry's Australian Electoral rolls. I suggest looking through the Australian records at Family Search and Ancestry. If you can locate a likely death record for your great aunt or her son, I think it is well worth getting. I would also join some Australian mailing lists. Good Luck!
