Elizabeth and Lyn are obviously right, a golden rule is not to assume. As far as I understood what it was that Stephanie was after as an answer, however, was, where is the parish register that holds all of these names mentioned? Ie, Boaz Sharpe, Malachi Mallock, Pharoah Flinton (her ancestor), Epaphroditus Haughton etc. They had been quoted in two separate sources, once in an article in 1888 and in something else in 1910. My answer was the original article appeared to indicate that the author had read a Sailing Register. The second article looks to have been almost a straight lift of the same information, with the remark "in one Register". It doesn't state anywhere it was a Parish Register, so I was pointing out it was best not to try to group everyone as being in the same place when they were born, just that they sailed over to America at some point between the reigning years of Kings James and Charles. A quick google of some of these names mention birthplaces in London and the North East of England. Sadly, her Pharoah Flinton, wherever he is mentioned, simply states his birthplace as England. I believe that Stephanie has other information which may point to Yorkshire being his county of birth. Hopefully she will make that breakthrough at some time in the future.
