Hi I've been trying to find more about the first marriage of my father, Harold BOWEN dob 1892 and his first wife Marie Hilda GRAVES dob 1890 but sadly their names do not appear anywhere in your eng-manchester info. I have a copy of their marriage certificate (1912) but can find nothing more, even though I am a member of ancestry.co.uk! I'm trying to find out if they divorced or if Marie Hilda died before/during he served in WW1. Maybe my father illegally married my mother in 1938 to acquire 4 children! His married Manchester parents William Thomas BOWEN and Sarah Elizabeth DUTTON moved to work in China from 1901 (both died there in the 1920s) so I suppose Marie could have gone there to join them and died there.
