    3. Hello Sandra, I have located a Stanley street in 1844 and 1894 on the east side of Strangeways prison. Its close to Cheetham, but I dont know the Cheetham boundries. Check the map out that I have sent you and let me know if its the right street and what time period you are researching.. Its close to a York street I was researching for another list member. To give you an idea of some of the problems while poring over maps. I have located so far, four different York streets in four different areas of Manchester. Scanned several map sections to make up a long length of street, then located another York street and again scanned several map sections. I did this three times for three of these streets. Would the Register of Electors be of any use in establishing how long the family were in residence at the address given. Has anyone any other suggestions or have any links to the family. 3. Hi Sheila As far as I can make out my Ryder's originated from Blackley. They then seemed to split, and my line moved to Prestwich, I think through marriage. I am not sure how long they stayed there, but they ended up in Hulme in 1845ish, which isn't too far away from Rusholme. There was quite a few brothers, and one of them lived in Ardwick, that is the nearest to Gorton I have found. I did order a death certificate some time ago, as I was looking for my Greatx3 Grandfather, William. It doesn't seem to fit in with my family, and I am wondering whether it may be connected to you? It is for a William Ryder, died 1865 of 48 Plymouth Grove, Chorlton upon Medlock, he was a Landed Proprietor. If you think any of this fits, please contact me.
