    2. Thanks, Mike, No I don't have a baptismal record. The child was adopted a few months after birth so I doubt was baptised in the area. And the mother gave birth at the address I stated, although she didn't normally live in the Manchester area. I rather think I may not be able to find out where this 42 High Street was as I don't have a district other than the sub-registration district of Manchester Central, but thought I would give it a try. I will also look for the map you suggested. Thanks again Carol In a message dated 31/07/2011 00:17:06 GMT Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: There is a High street running north from Market street into Shudehill. 3. I need some help locating my family's missing link. My grandmother was Adelaide Beatrice Cole from Manchester England. She was born in 1891. She married Bertram Garside and they moved to Canada. So far so good. Now for the hard part. She lost touch with her family. I have been piecing it together but have hit a snag. She had a sister whose name I do not know. It may have been Gertrude. A cousin can remember a sister that was nicknamed Dolly. The sister married a man named William Wood. They lived on Lansdowne Street in Didsbury England. They had 4 sons from what I can gather. Their names were Raymond, Alan, John and George. George served in WW2. John would be about 75 today. Does anyone know of this family? If I can find the sister's first name then I will perhaps be able to confirm if I am looking at the correct Cole family. Adelaide had another sister named Jessie. Her husband was Alfred. So my Wood family would have known an Unclec Alf and an Aunt Jessie who ran a pub. I would love to know more about the Wood family. Thanks for any help that you can provide.

    3. Thank you so much for helping me. I too found this pair but tried to then find them with children on Family search and no luck -found John Thomas Milligan but not married to Rebecca Page? I felt SUE it was the correct one, maybe I have looked in wrong place on Family search? Where else can I try to match them up-any ideas? I need to look at 1841/51 census, I know she had the children but perhaps she did not register them-seems very strange? I have a feeling Milligan may be a Scottish name but all guess work.
