    3. Hello Jack, There are actually some RC records on the IGI, although they may be limited. If you go to the following website, there is a search engine for Batch Numbers: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Trail/8333/iginum.html The following are examples for a few entries for Yorkshire RC churches: "Aberford M007341 - M007342 C007341 - C007342 (Roman Catholic) C075711 Aiskew (Roman Catholic) C079581" Those are from the first page of the Yorkshire batch numbers which I copied out, and there is also an Independent Church batch listed there. You will also find many Methodist entries, some Baptist, and a few Quaker. If there is no batch number for the area/parish that interests you, it is probably because that particular RC parish did not give the LDS permission to film. We have found that getting in touch with the present church, if it still exists, can get some replies. Admittedly, we are a lot closer to our areas of interest, but if you write, you will probably at least be able to find out whether your relatives are actually on the church records, and if it would merit a visit by yourself or a researcher. We were permitted access to the records of SS Mary and Joseph in Hedon by appointment, and a kind lady who is the custodian of the Burton Constable church records actually did look-ups for us. You can usually find the name of the relevant RC church by going to the GENUKI pages which deal with that town/parish. You can then address an enquiry to "The Parish Priest, XX Church, etc. etc." If they do not retain old copies of their parish registers, they can at least tell you where they are held. Hope this helps.
