    3. Hi Everyone, My great-grandmother, Lily Blanche Hope nee Astill, born 3rd of September 1884 at 18 (or 19?) Victoria Street Swindon, immigrated to Australia in the early 1900’s. After her death in 1949, my grandmother corresponded with her aunt, Mrs Mellor, until the aunt died in 1955. The family seemed to lose contact after that, and after my grandmother, Lily Blanche Astill Goodhew nee Hope, passed away in 1971 all possible knowledge of the family has been lost. I would love to find out more about the family and re-establish contact with anyone with connections with them. Lily Astill’s grandfather was Robert Astill of the Printing Works, Hartfordstreet, Coventry. Her grandmother was Ann Astill nee Wootton. Her father was also named Robert Astill, and was baptised at St Michael, Coventry on 15 April 1833, moved to Swindon as young man and became foreman to Mr W. Dore’s printing works in Victoria Street, later succeeding the business, carrying it on, and eventually transferring it to his sons. Her mother, Margaret Delphi Considine Astill nee Hall, second daughter of William Hall of Pendennis Castle, Cornwall, is said to have been born at or near the castle itself. Margaret died in 1899, and Robert subsequently married a second time to a Miss Maynard of Putney. Robert Astill died on June 15, 1915 at Zeals and was buried in Swindon beside Margaret. Robert had a brother, Charles Frederick Astill, baptised 16 March 1836 at St Michael, Coventry. My great grandmother had 14 other siblings. They are listed below in no particular order, along with the limited information we have on them: Robert Astill Known as Bob Possibly had daughter named Violet, who possibly became a Mrs Barrett, with a son Eric Barrett Died 21/2/47 Lothair Astill Alive as at 1915 Charles (Charlie) Astill Born 1872 Still alive as at 1953 Ella Alicia Ward Astill Possibly resided with brother Quigley Still alive as at 1955 Quigley Wallace Astill Born 1874 Possibly resided with sister Ella Still alive as at 1955 Mary Delphi Considine Astill Still unmarried at time of death in 1954 Elsie Astill Alive as at 1915 Amy Astill Died prior to 1949 Married name Mills Children: Edward Ewart (Known as Ted.
