> George Greenwood was born March 24 1881, one of two twin boys. His brother, Henry > Thomas, was my maternal grandfather. These births were registered in "St. Lukes > Parish, in the Finsbury district of London". I understand that "Finsbury" is now > part of "Islington" if that is pertinent. I have a photograph of the two brothers in army uniform. My grandfather became M.I.A. on the Somme Sept. 15 1916 and is in the Commonwealth War Graves records. George is not in those records. My grandfather was serving with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers at his death. What regiment George was assigned to is not known. George is said to have married, all that is known of his wife is a name "Alice". My mother is one of 7 children, George and Alice may have had a similar sized family.
