My mother passed away 2 days ago after a long illness. This article came though the genealogy network and left such an impression on me that I would like to share it with you. Subject: [ROOTS-L] Your Mothers Maiden Name Is your mothers maiden name on her headstone? Does anyone but you know who that dear person was? Lets all go into our cemeteries and identify as many of the women as we can while we can and record them in as many places as we can. Lets give a name to our mothers, sisters, aunts and grndmothers while we can. Lets also, from this time forward, put the maiden name on the headstone of all our women. They loved their people. They will love you for seeing that their idenity is not lost. I hope that you all think about it and help me to spread the word to give our women their names. Thanks to all for reading my plea. James
