Anne, Thankyou so much for the information re the Industrial Schools, it was so interesting that I've been glued to it for a while. Since their father had died and Mother had a young daughter it seems to me that the Family had dispersed over lancashire, several sisters were making their way to become nurses. It would seem they found their way to the Industrial school, hopefully to train to earn a living. Thankys again.....Meg
