The Kelly brothers were born in Widnes, Peter bc 1887 and Robert bc 1888, their Parents were Peter Kelly and Bridget (nee McCormack). Their elder brother Malachy died in WW1, in his service records he named Peter and Robert as his brother's, and gave Peter's address as 3, Hornby Street, Liverpool. Also he gave both brothers as being at The Industrial School, Liverpool. Could anyone give any information on either the brother's or the school in Liverpool. Thankyou for reading.....Meg

There is information about the Liverpool Industrial Schools at Kirkdale in the Workhouses site http://www.workhouses.org.uk/Liverpool/ Industrial schools were run by the Poor Law Unions in connection with the workhouses for children of inmates. But children who were deemed to be 'out of control' were often sent to them as well.
