Hi All, Can anyone who has visited the above help me please. I am visiting Liverpool next Monday-Thursday and plan on spending at least part of it in the records office. I know the opening times of the archives and the search room and I know that if you want source documents you have to order them in advance and state when you want to view them. I will probably do that for a few things. However I understand they have all the BMD register etc on Microfilm. My question is do you have to book these in the same way as I can't find any way of doing so. Thanks in advance for any responses. Keith Drury Myers.
Hi Keith, The readers are freely available so no worries there. However, if your'e short on time, it might be an idea to ask in advance for the film references for your particular "focus". Over the "search room", you will probably need some ID - Name address etc or a CARN ticket -then they will issue you a library card - which is nice as you can use this to log onto the library's computers. Oh, it might be an idea to ring them to see which is the "quietest" day - It can get busy. Good Luck, Paul Hetherington. Hello Keith It can get busy, so I'd suggest asking if you can book use of a microfiche machine for a particular time slot to avoid disappointment or a long wait. Good hunting.
