    3. Dear Fellow Listers, I thought I would take this opportunity to post a query. It is perhaps a bit of a needle in a haystack situation but if anyone can offer any valuable suggestions it would be appreciated. I have an ancestor by the name of John KAY or John KEY who was born in Knutsford, Cheshire in 1787. John appears to have been married twice firstly in 1807 and again in 1824. Two of his children were baptised at Witten in Cheshire and the baptismal register gives the names of the grandparents and their place of abode. In this case John's parents were given as James and Sarah and their place of abode was in both cases given as LIVERPOOL. The first baptism was recorded in 1808 and the second in 1830. There is a baptism in Knutsford for a John KAY whose parents were James KAY and Sarah on 28 October 1787 and a marriage of a James KEY Stocking Weaver to a Sarah FOXLEY in 1785. In 1786 there is a baptism for a Nancy KEY whose father James is a Servant to Mr HEATLY. I would like to confirm when and where in LIVERPOOL James and Sarah lived. As there are no further baptisms in Knutsford or in Cheshire that I can find did they move to Liverpool after 1787 and did they have any further children born there. Were they actually alive when their Grandchildren where christened and if so where did they die and where are they buried. Did their son John also live in LIVERPOOL at some stage. John was a Rockgetter who lived at Wincham in Cheshire. His daughter Ellen was baptised in 1808 but there is no record of any further children to this marriage. If I were to look for James and Sarah in LIVERPOOL would this refer to a wider geographical area around LIVERPOOL or is there one area or church that I should be looking at in particular if I want to find information about this couple and their families. Hoping that someone can help point me in the right direction. Regards, Christine
