Could any member please help me to find out if a German ancestor of mine residing in Liverpool would have been interned during the First World. Brian Forder
Hi Brian, By giving the name of your ancestor, a date of death etc. would be of help to members having some idea of where to look for helping you. Best regards. Jean. Brian Just googling brought up a BBC archive at the link below. This mentions that the majority of internees were sent to internment camp on the Isle of Man, although there were temporary camps set up at racecourses and incomplete building sites (Huyton). http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/ww2peopleswar/timeline/factfiles/nonflash/a6651 858.shtml As Jean kindly mentioned, some details of the ancestor you're trying to trace would be helpful to members.
