I am hoping someone with a military background can help me on this one. Wm McEVOY bc1830 was a soldier...on 1861 census he is a private and the record page just says Foot regiment 29 North Camp which is Farnborough Hants. In 1871 he is 42 and in Liverpool with family living at 28 Mason St, West Derby occ Band master 12th L.a.r? and some of his nighbours are military or pensioners.
