Hello Everyone, I just received an obit for my Great Uncle James MURPHY who died in WWI while serving in the Navy. It mentions that prior to joining the Navy he was employed by the C.P.R. as a rigger. Can anyone tell me what C.P.R. stands for? Thanks. Susan Illinois, USA

Susan, CPR not only had, and still has, a nation wide rail service but in the past they also had a fleet of quite famous ocean liners. A rigger certainly would be part of a maritime operation also.
