Hi - a friend has asked us to help him with some research. He is planning on going to England next year and would like to meet his relations. He left England about 1973 and came out here to New Zealand. He knew his cousins on his mother's side of the family but not on his father's. His father was Lawrence CLEGG (Born 16 Jan 1916 Toxteth Park) married to Margaret Olive McQUEEN (Born 22 Nov 1921). Lawrence has 2 sisters, Agnes (think she went to USA), Lilian, and four brothers, Charles, Tom, Arthur and William. The only other information I have is that Tom died and he had one son Douglas who died on an accident on his motorbike. If anyone knows of this family we would love to hear from you. Look towards Rochdale area. A chap by the name of Clegg, a motorbike enthusist died in a motorbike accident here in late 70 or early 80's. Nil else known, just a faint memory. Well reported in the Rochdsle observer newspaper. Gday Ann & Murray The was a family called Clegg who were Funeral Directors in Bridge Road Litherland,Liverpool 21 UK.This was up to 1965 when we left to come to Oz.I know a Mr Clegg married Edna Sharples who lived next door to my family home.
