Does anyone know any further information on the following BRIERLEY family from Liverpool: Thomas BRIERLEY born ?? married Esther Edwards 28 Dec 1812 Neston. Thomas died 16 June 1819, he was a Master Mariner. In his will there is a Joseph BRIERLEY, master mariner mentioned (who might have died in 1823). Possible Christening found on the IGI: Thomas BRIERLEY born 10 Oct 1788, Christened 2 Nov 1788 St Peter Liverpool. Parents James BRIERLEY & Elizabeth. Fathers occupation Shipwright. Possible siblings found on the IGI: John 1782 and William 1786 (can't find a Joseph). In 1819 Thomas lived in Hill St Liverpool. George BRIERLEY (son of Thomas & Esther) born 1817 Liverpool, Christened 14 May 1817 at St Peters Church St Liverpool. Address: Dennison St. Any help would be appreciated Thank you Claire
Hi Claire If Thomas was a Master Mariner, it's possible that the Registry of Seafarers at Cardiff will have a record of his Master's certificate. It may be worth contacting them.
