Hi List, I wonder if someone on the List with an Ancestry.com subscription could look at an original image in the 1880 US Census for me?In 1869 August Kronke and Margaret Connor married in Liverpool and appear in the 1871 census living in Liverpool [mistranscibed] as Crombe they then disappear from subsequent UK census records.I think I have found them on the 1880 US Census living in Jersey City,New Jersey as August and Margaret Frankie. August was born in Hanover,Germany and Margaret in Wexford, Ireland they appear to be living in the same building as an Irish American family named Corblis a family that I know they had connections with in Liverpool. The transcription gives the following information Precinct4,District 5,Jersey City,Hudson,New Jersey. I would love to find out if I have finally found my elusive Kronke's and if possible know if they went on to have a family in the United States or remained childless.I have tried to find out when they arrived in the US, if indeed it is the same couple but the Castle Garden site appears to be down or has moved as couldn't connect to it to see if there is any record of their arrival between 1871 and 1880. Kindest Regards Margaret Roberts[Wigan]
