    3. Hello, I was just looking through my old e-mails for something and found an e-mail I meant to tell the List about. I had e-mailed the Lancashire Record Office to find out if they had a record for Edward Evan CORKILL. He would have been on the Akbar Reform Ship ~1872. This was the response from almost 2 months ago. See below. Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) FYI: Dear .... Thank you for your e-mail. I have to inform you that although we hold records of the Liverpool Juvenile Reformatory Association, which was responsible for the 'Akbar' reformatory ship, here in the Lancashire Record Office, we do not hold any records of those persons resident on the ship prior to the year 1904. The earlier records of the Association are of an administrative nature only, and would be unlikely to include records of individual persons unless in exceptional circumstances. It would not appear that any of the earlier records of individual persons have survived. I am sorry that I have not been able to be more helpful to you on this occasion, but I hope that this information will have been of some assistance to you. Yours sincerely Bruce Jackson County Archivist ACS/RO/A1/F/DB Enquiry No 2009/3626 (This e-mail has been answered by David Blake)
