Hi List I am gradually coming to realise that nearly all my "GATER Relatives" have been residing in Liverpool for some years now and I have been looking for them in DEVON. My Aunt JESSIE FLORENCE DENCH married WILLIAM VALENTINE JONES who died in 1918 in the war. JESSIE FLORENCE JONES then married EDGAR R GATER in Devonport, Devon. They had 4 children who it appears married and lived/live in LIVERPOOL. These children were EDWIN, LORNA, EDITH AND HANNAH (all GATER). The girls in the family went on to marry into families: WALSH; MORAN; OWENS. EDWIN GATER married into a family "DOBB" I believe that HANNAH (WALSH) moved to AUSTRALIA, though I am not completely sure of that. Please can anyone help me to verify this and maybe help me to enhance my family tree; the reason for this is that my father WILLIAM HARRY DENCH was the brother of JESSIE FLORENCE DENCH so her children would be my 1st cousins and their children would be my first cousins once removed. My aunt JESSIE FLORENCE died, I believe in 1934 whereas I was born in 1941 so we would never have met; I would really love to hear anything from the family to open up this part of my family that I have been trying to research for such a long time now.
