On Ancestry, marriages are, I belive, fully transcribed up to 2005 but I can't find a marriage of a Doris Stout in Lancashire from the late 40s - early 60s. Hello Sandra    I have a copy of the marriage certificate from the GRO for Robert Henry Stout and Doris Buckley  issued  5th august 1944, marriage was solemnized at the parish church in the parish of St. Helens. My mother was a witness and the bride and grooms parents match up so i know i have the right couple.   but was never able to find the index on freebmd..,  I was told the divorce came final in either 1950 or 1951. and there are an awful lot of Doris Buckley's marriages assuming she reverted to her maiden name.   Another piece of information was my older sister joined the army in Aldershot, she was born in 1951 so she would have been at least 18 to join, that would have put her there about 1969 . our mum asked her to look up aunt doris who was supposed to be living in a place called Sheerwater or Clearwater Estates in or near Guilford, Surrey, when she went their she couldn't find the place.
