    3. People see what they want to see in 'ghost' pictures in the same way some devout religious people notice sacred images in everyday objects. But funnily enough you never get Christians seeing the name of Allah in the seeds of an aubergine or a Muslim spotting the face of Jesus in a slice of pizza. I don't see how a spiritualist can 'confirm' anything of this nature, but photographers can usually explain the tricks of light and shadow involved. I suggested sending the image to Richard Wiseman because he posts such things to his blog for comments and people are able to reply with scientific explanations. Also as a psychologist he is good at explaining how we see or fail to see what is really there (see his stuff on You Tube). I've been to a few of his talks and he's a former magician so its always fun. When I was at school I 'saw a ghost' in the dormitory. So I'm quite aware how convincing these things can be. But there is always an explanation. Judy Olsen
