Will some kind person point me in the direction of where I might find the minutes of the railway board meeting that occurred on 9 March 1829 in Liverpool. At that meeting the decision was made to allow locomotives to be considered along with ropes pulled by stationary engines to pull the carriages. I believe also that it was during this meeting the decision was also made to award the locomotive winner ( eventually Stephenson ) a £500 prize. Did the board or an individual put up the money ???
