Hello Listers I am after knowledge of THOMAS GATTER born in Farringdon, Devon in about 1828. Also he had a son JOSEPH GATTER born in Farringdon, Devon in about 1863. After this it looks as if the name changed to JOSEPH GATER. JOSEPH married MARY and had (amongst others) EDGAR R GATER. EDGAR GATER married (second time around) JESSIE FLORENCE JONES (nee DENCH); They went on to have 4 children: HANNAH E, EDITH W, LORNA and EDWIN N GATER. I believe that I know their marriages, but am not entirely sure. I believe that HANNAH married a GEORGE WALSH and went to Australia where they both died in the same month. It is very strongly believed that they all, at a later date, moved north to Liverpool. This would have been after 1934 as this is when their mother JESSIE died in 1934 and Edgar Gater remarried in 1936. I would be very pleased to hear from anyone who may know more about the GATER family to help me in my search for more information. Thank you very much for spending the time to read my email.
