Hi Stephen, My Kelly family came from Armagh to Wigtown in Scotland around 1845 (famine time) and remained there for about 35 years. I know for sure that William Kelly (born circa 1823 Ireland) and some of his family (Mary b. 1854, Arthur b. 1863 and Patrick b. 1866) moved to Liverpool and were living at 45c Canterbury Street in 1881. Some of the others went to America. Other family members - John (b. 1847), James (b. 1849), William (b. 1851), Thomas (b.1850), Peter (b. 1858) and Rosean (b. 1860) My grandfather's brother, John Kelly born 1878 in Albany, USA also lived in Liverpool. I believe someone in the family was a publican in Liverpool. While we share a very common name, I wondered if there was a family connection. Best wishes, Bill Kelly ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stephen Kelly" <keggsie@gmail.com> To: <ENG-LIVERPOOL@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, December 01, 2009 12:05 PM Subject: [ENG-LIV] Surname interests > Anyone researching the following names in the Liverpool area: > > Shaw, Pe(i)nnington, Watkinson, Banning, Kelly, Hudspith > > Regards > Steve > -- > Gen Mag Online - Foremost unique online genealogy ahd history magazine. > www.genmagonline.co.uk > ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ > > Admin Message - List guidelines: > http://freespace.virgin.net/genealogical.collections/AdminMessage.htm > > The list admin can be contacted at > Eng-Liverpool-admin@rootsweb.com > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > ENG-LIVERPOOL-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
