    1. [ENG-LIV] Rev. John Brooks - 1830 Kirkdale Quarter Sessions
    2. I have a newspaper article on the KIRKDALE EASTER SESSIONS, 1830. It describes the Rev. J. Brooks presiding or as being "in the chair". Does anyone happen to be researching the BROOKS family which includes this Rev.? Does Presiding or being in the chair mean this man was the judge? There's also a line in my guy's petition to the King that he was convicted by a "jury of his country". does anyone know the size of a jury at the quarter sessions ... would it be 12? Thanks for any help/suggestions/recommended reading. Janet in California
