I am researching the Backhouse fanily of Liverpool Lancshire . M yu earliest is Robert Backhouse who married Isabelle Ormandy on 2 Nov. 1776 at St Nicholas Liverpool William Backhouse b 1828 m Mary Anne Clark b 1828 c 1850-52 in Liverpool William Backhouse b 19 July 1853 m 0n 20 January 1877 Mary Ellen Strange christeened 25 December 1853 Liverpool William Edward Backhouse b 1880 d March quater 1939 Liverpool m 1917 Mary E Davies William Kenneth George Backhouse b 1918 Liverpool Lancs d 1943 Tunisa North Africa of wounds m 1940 Jaon May Taylor b 21 May 1921 Liverpool Lancs d 23 Nov 2008 Victoria BC Canada . These names all had brothers & sisters . I was told that Mrs William Backhouse (nee Davies) owned several pubs in the Toxeth Park area. Their addreses were 91 Upper Stanhope St, & 31 Arnold Street Toxeth Park, Liverpool. Any help would be appreciated Thank you Paul.J.Willson

Dear Bill: Thank you for your e mail. The company that Mr William Backhouse was connected with "J Barnes & co., Forrest St & 77 Kitchner ST Liverpool, Ship repaiers , " Thats part of a letter when he applied for release from military service in 1917 .
