Hi List Happy New Year to you all. I would like to ask anyone who knows what is meant when a birth or marriage, etc, is given as "Liverpool (s)" and what area this encompasses? These marriages took place between 1941 and 1948 and they were all in Liverpool. It would appear that my family of GATER and JONES moved to Lilverpool(s) from (to my knowledge) Devon; however, I don't know if they moved anywhere else from Devonport before arriving in Liverpool. Any help would be gratefully accepted especially as my family is gradually being formed thanks to a couple of very helpful listers. Did they actually move? There was a war on. Liverpool was an embarcation point. People did marry whilst on a few days' leave or just before being shipped overseas.
