Could it be that the bride lived in St Paul's parish at the time of her marriage, but her husband was from St Peter's and that is where they went to live after the marriage? Regards, Cecilia Bell in Essex UK ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joe Bissett" <jbissett@hot-peppers.com> To: <eng-liverpool@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 05, 2010 2:18 PM Subject: [ENG-LIV] St Paul, Liverpool Marriage Hi List, Just wondering if anyone on the list has access to the actual images of either or both of these filmed marriages. The first version is from the IGI, and the second is from the OPC web site. I believe this is the marriage of the parents of my Ellen Jane YATES, who married Stephen CUSHING circa 1832. Ellen Jane and 4 siblings are reflected in the IGI with both birth and christening dates. In all cases the parents are shown as Edward YATES and Elizabeth COLLISTER. All children's records are recorded at St Peters, Liverpool. Normally I would not even question that this is the correct marriage, as I am fully familiar with the myriad of surname spelling variations back in this time frame; however, it strikes me as somewhat odd that this marriage is at St Paul, while all of the children were christened at St Peter. I welcome any comments on the transcriptions of these filmed records, the two different churches, or anything else that you think might be helpful. Hi Cecilia, Thanks for responding. That certainly is a good possibility. :-) If that is the case, my "guess" would be that the actual record would say something like Edward Yates of St Peters....and Elizabeth Collister of this parish. That is what I've seen on many other of my OPC records. Maybe someone has access to those images and can confirm or deny that. At some point I might have to go through the lengthy process of ordering in the films at a San Antonio FHC some 30 miles distant. :-) Regards, Joe
