Hi Listers, I'm hoping there is someone with knowledge regarding Samplers, and they can help me some guidelines on e.g. Doing things like Samplers etc, was it something that would only be available for people with a privileged back ground? My friend has a Sampler which is very nice done, on the Sampler there is a verse followed by, Rose Vose 1806. This is the same Rose Vose from my previous posting, who was the mother of Ellen Vose born 1817. Would appreciate any information or thoughts regarding Sampler. Best Regards. Jean Flanagan. Liverpool.

A few years ago I called to All Saints Childwall with some friends from Canada who were doing family history. The Church was closed, but the Sexton was in the churchyard working. He was in a position to open the church, and with the information given to him was able to go straight to the burial registers and direct us straight to the grave, which we never would have found without his help. I feel you would get good assistance from this Church, even if you were not lucky enough to go "on speck" and meet the Sexton in the churchyard. You may already have found these links, but in case you have not, here it is again: https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=All%20Saints%20Childwall Marged Hi Listers, I have burial information for All Saints Childwall, unfortunately there is no grave numbers given, does anyone know where I can obtain the grave number registers. Hi Listers, I have burial information for All Saints Childwall, unfortunately there is no grave numbers given, does anyone know where I can obtain the grave number registers. Best regards. Jean Flanagan, Liverpool.
Hi Listers, I'm helping a friend, hopefully to break through a long time brick wall. The person of interest is a Rose Vose, born around 1800 possibly Liverpool. The information already obtained is as follows. As a single mother Rose Vose gave birth to a daughter Ellen1817 Liverpool, the father was John Watkin/Watkins, this was obtained from National Archives. Also found, Rose Vose is a witness to a marriage of a John Vose and Ellen Arnold 1815. A marriage has been found for a Rosanna [signed as Rosehanna] Vose to Thomas Robinson 1820. The baptism of two sons have been found from this marriage, James and Thomas baptised All Saints Childwall, also a burial for the child James, there is also a burial of a Rose Robinson 1835 age 35. Unfortunately with not a lot of information given on marriage entry, no link has been found to if Rose Vose and Rosanna Vose are one and the same person. Ellen the daughter of Rose Vose, married and eventually emigrated to Australia around 1858. On her death information is states place of birth as Old Swan Liverpool. I would much appreciate any help, guidelines etc. of what steps to take next to solving the elusive Rose Vose as no baptism has been found. Many thanks in advance, for any suggestions. Best regards. Jean Flanagan, Liverpool.
Hello List, I'm looking for the death of Thomas KELLY, born in Ireland 1830s, who is said to have died, after 1896, by falling from the gangplank of a ship docked in Liverpool or Blackpool. He might have left a surviving wife and child there. Are there any online sources of obits from that era and place? Thanks, PJ

Don't know if anyone has asked on the local family lists but I posted this on a couple of RAF forums. Collision of Halifaxes LL297 and LL186 of 518 Squadron, Tiree 16 August 1944 I was just reading in the Oban Times that a memorial is being erected to the crews of LL296 and LL186 who died 16th August 1944 near Tiree. The memorial is to be unveiled and dedicated at 13:25h on 16th August 2014 (same time as the accident happened). They have traced the families of 15 of the 16 killed but have been unable to trace any relatives of Kenneth Williams. Presumably this is him WILLIAMS, KENNETH Rank: Sergeant Trade: Flt. Engr. There is a date on the far left – looks like 19. There is another date – looks like 21. Do you see both dates ? So, does this indicate that she died on the 19th and was buried on the 21st ? It also mentions Everton. Is this where she lived ?
