    3. Nova Scotia was a street off the south side of Mann Island. It ran parallel with and adjacent to the western side of the inlet on the north end of Canning Dock. It was parallel to and (very closely) east of the more recently demolished Irwell Street.     3. The burial entry in the parish register is available via Ancestry - but gives no further detail to that you already have. It just says Wm Mcnish Porter, Castle St(reet) late of Montreal Canada, age 32 years - no occupation or other info is recorded (which is quite normal for burial registers at the time). I have contacted them several times but I can't help you with an address because when my PC crashed earlier this year I lost all my contacts. I will continue to scavenge through my records to see if I can find their address. Hi Rosemary The Lancashire Records Office holds police records and a search for Thomas ARMSTRONG yeilds a few results (see http://www.lancashire.gov.uk/education/record_office/records/policesearch.asp). You may find something useful at http://liverpoolcitypolice.co.uk. I've read previosly that the Merseyside Police (http://www.merseyside.police.uk) have archives, but have no idea how to access them.
