Ted . Charles LUNT gardener lived at No.66 Deysbrook Lane listed in Gore's 1911 Liverpool Directory There are a great number of LUNT names listed around Liverpool. If you would like a copy of the Directory Page, I will send off list. Terry Heath Cheltenham UK
I am looking for any information on Thomas William GUNN and his wife Flora who were living in Liverpool in the 1940s. They had a son, Thomas Gower Gunn, born about 1913. I can find no trace of their marriage or of Thomas's birth. Does anyone know anything of them? David
Can anyone tell me anything of the family of Harry Roy and Marie Lucille Cox who lived at 21 Oaklands Drive Bebington. Harry Roy Cox was a naval architect who died in 1978. Marie Lucille Cox had been born in Jersey and died in the Isle of Scilly in 1987. There children were Roy Le Masurier Cox born at West Derby in 1919, Lucille born 1922 in West Derby, Marie Marguerite born 1923 in West Derby and David born 1927 on the Wirral. It is the children I am interested, especially Roy who died while serving in the RAF in WWII, rather than their ancestry. David

Hello Liz, Due to some recent technical difficulties, the search has been suspended temporarily. You can cut down your research time by going to the parish you are interested in, clicking on whichever sort of record you want (ie baptisms, marriages, burials) and then choosing from the surname index. You can check each name that looks like the one you are after - the year of the record is shown to help eliminate those that are too early or too late. Hope that helps, Regards, Sally ---------------------------------------- > Date: Thu, 17 Sep 2009 18:47:17 -0400 > From: lizbon@optonline.net > To: eng-liverpool@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [ENG-LIV] Lancs OPC update - 15 Sep 2009 > > So you can only search what parishes are on the site, not the actual records > of that parish? >
Would appreciate a look up please for someone in Deysbrook Lane, West Derby Village, for Elizabeth Lunt, with some family members possible Albert Edward Lunt, and other members of the family although Charles the father died in 1910 I think. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry I can be more specific about the family names. TED.
The surgeon, Keith Monsarrat listed in Gore's Directory 1906, operated some years later to relieve the burst stomach ulcer of my grandfather Samuel STOCK. He had refused to be admitted to hospital and the surgery was carried out on the kitchen table at the patient's home in Rainford, St Helens, followed by a complete recovery. Can anybody confirm the plaque? Hi John, Looking at the makeup of this family I would say more likely the more appropriate term of foster children would apply. Although a nurse child strictly speaking was a child who was put out to be breast fed obviously in this case except possibly for the 35 year old niece it is not likely any of these women were producing milk, certainly not enough to feed 6. Quite often wealthier families who found an unmarried daughter embarrassingly in the family way would pay a poorer household to take on the care of the child permanently & this may well be the case in this instance. Best wishes, Sharon >I have come across a household of nine people in Cherry Lane, >Walton-on-the Hill, in the 1851 Census consisting of a woman head of >household aged 54, her sister aged 68, a niece aged 35, a lodger >aged 14, and six 'nurse children'. > >Can a list-member explain this domestic arrangement please? >
Virginia, Walton on the Hill is/was a geographical quite large parish. "A Genealogical Gazetteer of England" (1995, Genealogical Publishing Company, Baltimore) which is based upon the situation in 183, has this: Walton on the Hill: parish, 1586 (ie start of records), Lancashire, comprising chapelries Everton, Formby, Kirkby, West Derby; townships Bootle with Linacre, Fazakerly, Kirkdale, Simonswood, Walton on the Hill. Pop. 22,575, archdeaconry and diocese Chester; 3 miles ne (of) Liverpool" Chapelries were able to conduct baptisms and burials but not marriages, which had to be performed at the parish level. Later some of these chapelries within the parish would have been elevated to the status parishes in their own right. They were both originally from Cumberland. THis information is taken from their marriage certificate of which I have a copy. I have been trying to find records of their children's births or baptisms - but am a little confused as to where the St James Church is? William JACKSON was a Mariner/Merchant and I cannot find him on the 1851 census - but his wife Maria and two children - William Robinson Jr (b c 1847) and Mary (b c1849) are listed as living in No 2 Court @ Upper Harrington St, Toxteth Park as a Mariners Wife. In mid 1853 they had another son James before packing up to move to Australia. Maria's mother, Maria YOUNG Sr was living with them in 1851 and I believe she may have died in Dec 1851 (according to FreeBMD ) but I have not confirmed this. Is there a website or a much easier (and dare I say cheaper!) way to get any information regarding the births of the children or the death of the mother Maria YOUNG (b c 1784 in Ireland mn DONALDSON) and married James YOUNG (b c 1872 Scotland) I would welcome any information kind regards Virginia Mt Isa Qld, Australia _________________________________________________________________ Take a peek at other people's pay and perks Check out The Great Australian Pay Check http://clk.atdmt.com/NMN/go/157639755/direct/01/
