    3. Hurst Street was in Old Swan. After it was knocked down they built a block of flats there - Hurst Gardens I think. They are also knocked down now. Replaced by a fire or ambulance depot and a big yellow coloured storage facility. See the 1906 map on the superb Old Swan web pages http://oldswan.piczo.com/1906map?cr=5&linkvar=000044 Peter -----Original Message----- From: eng-liverpool-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:eng-liverpool-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of John Lloyd Sent: 26 October 2009 10:31 To: eng-liverpool@rootsweb.com Subject: [ENG-LIV] Street Locations I would be grateful for receiving help in locating the following streets: Mary Adelaid (?) Margaret Boardman, born 1776 in Lowton, who married Peter Caldwell, born 1772 in Lowton. Not sure who Margaret's parents were or how far Lowton is from West Derby. They had 11 children, one was my ggggrandfather Henry Caldwell, born 1801 who married Elizabeth Abbot, born 1809 in West Derby. Henry and Elizabeth lived in West Derby and had 4 children that I'm aware of. Any connections? 1. [ENG-LIV] Marriage Bond and Allegation
    2. dave
    3. My posting several weeks ago re. Marriage Bonds available at Cheshire Records office has resulted in a partial success. I received the copy of the original Bond and Allegation last week. It clearly states a an impending marriage between James Dobson and Margaret Armstrong, both of the parish of Liverpool, and commits James Dobson to a £500 bond in the event of his failure to marry Margaret and states that there are no barriers to their marriage thus granting them a licence. The disappointing part of the document states both parties ages as 21 years which I understand means that they were of age of consent and could be 21 or 51 there's no distinction also there is no mention of parents of the couple further hampering my search for another generation. The Bond was dated the same day as their marriage Sept 23 1793 at St Johns Haymarket Liverpool which seems like a rather rushed process explained by a birth of a daughter 27 Jan 1794. Never the less it is a historic document that I treasure and is a route that could be taken by other researchers if their ancestors were married by Licence in the Liverpool area. Dave Ontario Canada
