Hello to the list.... this is completely off topic. I wondered if someone would be kind enough to help me I am trying to find out how much it costs to pay yourself out of the army. If someone has completed the training and then wishes to leave ??? I am wanting to know how much it costs now, in 2000 or so. This is to re inforce a theory I have. Hi Jo, I wouldn't have a clue as to where he was buried. The 1891 census has him in Millers Bridge, so I would start with churches closest to that and work your way out. Will some kind person point me in the direction of where I might find the minutes of the railway board meeting that occurred on 9 March 1829 in Liverpool. At that meeting the decision was made to allow locomotives to be considered along with ropes pulled by stationary engines to pull the carriages. I believe also that it was during this meeting the decision was also made to award the locomotive winner ( eventually Stephenson ) a £500 prize. Did the board or an individual put up the money ??? My thanks to you for your answers to my Enoch questions -- I will take some time and look at Salperton and Sapperton and see if I can find anything. I really feel sorry for the poor man -- no one seems to know where he was born --or when -- even his marriage cert. has what seem to be different dates for his birth. Hi Audrey, I have had a look on Google Street View - this amazing resource shows you images of the shops/street etc. as if you were travelling along the road. It saves petrol and shoe leather when you want to check an address out. Use 'Google Maps' - search for the road - Breck Road, Liverpool - this results in a map of the area on your computer screen - Hover on the yellow man in the top left hand corner. Then click on him and drag him to Breck Road on the map. Drop him there and you will get the images of the scene on the street.
