    3. Hi all Yes, there are a lot of us Williamses about (about a quarter of a million in the UK alone today). I'm looking for Davies, Thomas, Morgan, Beynon, Morris, Jones (Oh dear!) and Williams, all in Llanelli and all about 1850. The number of times in Wales they went for David Davies, Thomas Thomas, Morgan Morgan, John Jones and William Williams is quite remarkable but probably a hangover from and adaptation of the patronymic naming convention where this sort of thing would be just a reflexion of the common practice of calling a boy after his father (Eynon ap Eynon becoming Eynon Beynon, for instance). Oh for an unusual occupational name like Smith. Count your blessings you are looking in Liverpool and not in deepest Wales! Best wishes Allen Williams Sale Cheshire On Tue, 24 Nov 2009 13:15:06 -0000, hobby.horse <hobby.horse@tiscali.co.uk> wrote: > Peter > > I too am searching for a William WILLIAMS born about 1891, probably in > Wrexham then later living in Liverpool. My Aunt JESSIE FLORENCE DENCH married WILLIAM VALENTINE JONES who died in 1918 in the war. JESSIE FLORENCE JONES then married EDGAR R GATER in Devonport, Devon. EDWIN GATER married into a family "DOBB" I believe that HANNAH (WALSH) moved to AUSTRALIA, though I am not completely sure of that. There is a Sheerwater in Woking Surrey From: Hello Sandra    I have a copy of the marriage certificate from the GRO for Robert Henry Stout and Doris Buckley  issued  5th august 1944, marriage was solemnized at the parish church in the parish of St. Helens. My mother was a witness and the bride and grooms parents match up so i know i have the right couple.   but was never able to find the index on freebmd..,  I was told the divorce came final in either 1950 or 1951. and there are an awful lot of Doris Buckley's marriages assuming she reverted to her maiden name.   Another piece of information was my older sister joined the army in Aldershot, she was born in 1951 so she would have been at least 18 to join, that would have put her there about 1969 . our mum asked her to look up aunt doris who was supposed to be living in a place called Sheerwater or Clearwater Estates in or near Guilford, Surrey, when she went their she couldn't find the place. 3. Hi Eileen Is your aunt alive? If so, RootsWeb's Community Guidelines prevent us from discussing her on the list. (http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/rootsweb/community_guidelines.html) You might try the Salvation Army. I understand that they can help locate relatives. Another thought is to place a notice in a local newspaper and you could post on the Lost Family and Friends message board (http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.lost-family-and-friends/mb.ashx). Good luck! Kind regards, Lynne .

I was also told she had a couple of young children with her when she visited us in early 1960's in Liverpool. I have just been told by my sister that she has found two photos of our Aunt Doris Buckley. There are no dates on the photos, in each photo she is holding a baby, two different babies. On one photo it says Aunt Doris mums sister and baby Janet. and the other says aunt Doris and Ann age 3 months taken in our garden " doesn't she make for when Ann was so tiny at birth". With this limited information can anyone suggest how I could search for my aunt and her children. Many thanks Eileen

Good luck!
