    3. Yes the same for our family. We always celebrated 16th September for our mother and she actually died on it too! BUT the certificate said 17th as we then discovered. I did have pups born on either side of midnight!! So I get confused that way also. I looked up his birth record and ordered a copy of the entry. The doctor was called out late on the 10th, but my step-dad wasn't born until early in the morning of Dec. 11th. (around 2:30am). I suspect that the family always thought he was born on the night of the 10th. It is a relatively trivial thing, since he always told EVERYONE the same story, but if any authority had checked, they might be suspicious of his inaccuracy. And my wife had an uncle who didn't know what state he was born in. He had to ask me because I had the records. So, Mike, are you sure of when and where YOU were born? When it arrived we found that the date on it was 9th December. We knew she was born on the 10th. In those days the registration in New Zealand was done from the records in the hospital where the birth took place. We had called the local hospital sister at home about 2am on the 10th to open the very small rural maternity hospital as there were no other babies there at the time. As she was to be paid from the start of her shift, 10pm on the 9th, she signed all documents as of the 9th!! 3. I'd always understood that I was born at the Bromhead Hospital in Lincoln. However, a couple of years ago I went to visit an aunt who informed me that I was in such a hurry to make an appearance that I was delivered in the ambulance next to "The Rest" by Lincoln Cathedral. When we finally reached the hospital they took my dad in first, instead of mum and me, as he had fainted in the ambulance. -----Original Message----- From: Digoldsby [mailto:digoldsby@ntlworld.com] Sent: 21 February 2017 07:42 To: eng-lincsgen@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [LIN] Birth Yes the same for our family.
