    1. [LIN] Marriage Luther HANSON & Esabl BAUDERY Dorrington 1740

    3. I have the following marriage transcription for Luther HANSON & Isabella BAUDERY at Dorrington 10 Nov 1740. The original marriage entry image is not available in the Lincolnshire Parish Records on Find My Past, Lincs to the Past or FamilySearch and I’m wondering how I can obtain a copy of the image. The transcription comes from the Bishops Transcripts rather than Parish Records. I’m interested in finding out more about Luther Hanson’s wife – her christian name is recorded as ‘Esabl’ in the marriage, and Izabella in her burial in 1789. FamilySearch have transcribed it as Esabella for the baptism of their son Thomas in 1746. 3. Hi Janice, Given what's said regarding the dates in this general register for Dorrington (scroll down beneath the register) http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx? oid=552717&iid=202769 the register for about 1723-1753 no longer exists, so all you have for that period is the BTs. The LDS have filmed the BTs, and if you have a local LDS FHC to you should be able to order in the film to see the entry. Film number 432470. However marriage registers prior to 1754 when new-style registers were brought in gave the barest of details - name of groom, name of bride, and if you were very lucky, the date. For an example see image 30 in the link above. The transcription was done by Lincolnshire FHS, so is almost certainly 100% accurate as regards the details. Marriages often took place in the bride's parish, so I think I would have a search of the the Dorrington baptisms first in my search for Esabl/Esabella and her parents. Though there were two "Isabel's" around as another Isabell Bawdrey *(sic)* married in Sleaford in 1738. The likelihood is that they were cousins, but don't quote me on that, as I have been wrong before. <g> Pam Proud to be a member of Lincolnshire Family History Society http://www.lincolnshirefhs.org.uk/ On 14 March 2017 at 00:48, Morris & Weston family <westmor@clear.net.nz> wrote: > I have the following marriage transcription for Luther HANSON & Isabella > BAUDERY at Dorrington 10 Nov 1740.
