Hi, I usually lurk on here now and again as I have family from Lincs as well as Notts,the names being Elston and Revill in Claypole mostly. I saw the post about free newspaper articles and despite the fact that I have a card which gives me access to Nottingham library as a visitor and can get access to newspapers on line (I live in Scotland but was born in Nottingham) I decided to go and look at the free newspapers mentioned in the posting and I was over the moon to find my dad!  6th March 1944 he was reported in the Nottm Evening Post as being wounded in Italy.  I did know this of course as he was a disabled service man but I found this purely by accident on this site and was so excited I had to tell you all!
