Greetings Lincs. The Marriage Index for Q2/1890 records a union between Valentine GREEN and Ada Jane WETTLEBOURN, in Grantham RD. They can be seen on the 1891 census at 5 Mill Lane, Bottesford, and from this and subsequent returns, Ada's pob appears to be Thornton-le-Clay, Yorks., c1865. Problem is, I can't find any other record of that (Wettlebourn) surname or anything remotely resembling it, either for Ada, Jane or any other forename - and that applies not just to Yorkshire and Lincs., but anywhere else, at any time. I believe Valentine died in 1893 and that Ada remarried a Frederick William ROBINSON in 1896, appearing on the 1901 return at 19 St Peter’s Hill, Grantham. The presence of an Ada Jane ROBINSON with matching date and pob in the 1871 & 1881 census returns for Thornton, Yorks. is, I hope entirely flukey!
