I was just about to say the same thing, the 1841 census is in the name LIMON ref H.O 107/615/16a  and again the aged of the wife Elizabeth is considerably younger than the husband Thomas, she is listed as 25 and he as 40 (of course ages were rounded down I believe to the nearest 5 years)  and again William is the only older child in the house, so he would appear to be the only child of the first marriage to the widowed Elizabeth in 1820, and then Mary onwards are the children of the second Elizabeth whom he married in 1831 presumably when she was 19 or thereabouts.  btw I found the 1841 census return by looking for the farmer James Greenham who had employed George Norris in the 1851 census and then going over the page and the family were living in the same place So I hope this has solved the mystery for you I did also find a Norris Lineham in Fosdyke born about 1769 so I assume this is the father of Thomas? or an uncle perhaps. kind regards once again Elaine Westaway ________________________________ From: elaine westaway <laneywest1960@yahoo.com> To: "eng-lincsgen@rootsweb.com" <eng-lincsgen@rootsweb.com>; "PJHansen13@aol.com" <PJHansen13@aol.com> Sent: Monday, 2 January 2012, 11:41 Subject: Re: [LIN] Admin. note: January The 1851 census is in the name of LINCHAM, (ref H.O 107/2100) they are living in Fen Side in Blakeney and there is an elder son listed with them William then aged 28 and a farm labourer, his date of birth is given as 1823 so he still might not be the eldest child, strangely Elizabeth's year of birth is given as 1812 and she is listed as aged 39 so this is clearly not correct.  William is also listed as being born in Metheringham. I do not have any of the census records for their father, Thomas  Lineham who was baptized in Kirton In Holland on 28 Dec 1795.  Thomas and  Elizabeth were married in Timberland on 4 July 1820. So those that I am looking for are additional children of Thomas and  Elizabeth.  Logically there should be additional children.  I have  seen MANY variations in the spelling of the surname, many of which I have  thought impossible, but then the children in the records match up with the  records that George's wife wrote down and gave to my grandmother for future  reference. I understand that at least part of the time George was referred to as  Norris.  According to the archives in London the family had been in  Lincolnshire since at least the early 1600's.
