    3. I've been looking for my GGfather, Thomas Ringrose TAGG, was in Sutton area about 1840, married Mary COULTAS in Grantham, then moved to US. Have no pre-Sutton info on him or any other prior TAGG folks. He may have been born in Cambridgeshire, but I haven't found him there either.  Sure would like to know something. Can't believe he just sprang out of the earth. 3. This message will come in two parts as it is too long. I agree with Mick and found some interesting things to go along with it. I'm fairly certain Susannah Ringrose Tagg is the Susannah Tag who was buried Doddington St Mary, Cambridgeshire in 1836 at age 46. She fits in every way and there are strong ties in the information I found to Doddington. On the marriage entry for John Tagg and Susannah Ringrose, the witnesses are given as Abraham Tagg, Catherine Tagg, Sarah Read and James Read, and William Cooper. I find no familial ties with William Cooper, but Sarah was sister to Abraham and Catherine, born Sarah Tagg and married James Read in Doddington in 1803, and the three were siblings to John. A Rebecca Tagg married Jacon Burch in Doddington in 1825. I can't verify it's the same Rebecca but the youngest of John and Elizabeth Willmot Tagg's children was Rebecca bap 5 Mar 1797 Silk Willoughby Lincs. Let me lay out what I think is your line, then I will tell you the exciting thing I found and why you probably can't find them. I will send you my working notes with all the references in it, but most of this has come from the new Family Search site, FreeReg, and Ancestry. I promise we'll get them to Lincs, Lou! Abraham TAGGE marreid Mary SHOER 1 Jun 1703, South Wingfield Derbyshire. Their parents are not known at this time. Children: George, bap s5 Jun 1704, South Wingfield Thomas bap 27 Oct 1706, South Wingfield Elizabeth bap 26 Mar 1710 South Wingfield John TAGG bap 12 Jul 1712 Alferton Derbyshire Anne bap 11 Apr 1715 Alfreton Abraham bap 9 Nov 1717 Alfreton Mary bap 28 Oct 1721 Alfreton William bap 14 Nov 1724 Alfreton Abraham TAGGE married Mary Maiden Name Unknown, date and place unknown child: John Tagg bap 7 Feb 1745 Pinxton, Derbyshire Pinxton is one of the locations that helps link this family when they show up on the 1851 census. John Tagg married Elizabeth Willmot 15 Nov 1770 Ashover, Derbyshire groom's residence is Chesterfield, bride's is Ashover and the TAGGE name goes back into the 1600 in the PRs in Ashover] Ashover is 10 miles from Pinxton Children: Abraham bap 16 Jul 1775 Pinxton Derbyshire Catherine bap 30 Mar 1777 Pinxton Sarah bap 26 Oct 1778 Pinxton Mary bap 12 Jan 1781 Pinxton John bap 25 Nov 1782 Pinxton Elizabeth bap 3 Apr 1784 Pinxton Thomas bap 7 Jan 1787 Silk Willoughby Lincolnshire buried 21 Nov 1793 George bap 11 Nov 1790 Silk Willoughby William 17 Feb 1793 Silk Willoughby Rebecca bap 5 Mar 1797 Silk Willoughby Pinxton is 47 miles from Silk Willoughby and it is a further 28 miles to the Holbeach, Whaplode, Long Sutton area. Abraham, Catherine and Sarah were witnesses to John's marriage as we already discussed. Abraham is on the 1841 census in Blackwell, Derbyshire with first wife Elizabeth Wateral and on the 1851 census in Sutton St Marywith his second wife Ann Cole (they were married in Doddington by the way!) as is brother William. Sister Elizabeth is an annuitant in Easton Northamptonshire in 1851. These folks traveled and they aren't all done yet! there are burial records for John 15 Jan 1812 age 71 and Elizabeth wife of John 22 Dec 1808 (whether this is Elizabeth Willmot Tagg I can't be certain as there is no age) both in Holbeach John Tagg married Susannah Ringrose 20 Jul 1813 Long Sutton Lincs. John's residence was Gedney Children: Thomas bap 17 Oct 1814 Gedney George bap 11 Mar 181 Gedney John bap 27 Oct 1819 Long Sutton William bap 1 Oct 1821 Whaplode Look for part two in a minute, Susan

    3. Hi Alden. >From the FreeReg website. John TAGG of Gedney married Susannah RINGROSE in Long Sutton on July 20th 1813. In the Gedney parish records there is a baptism on October 17th 1814 for Thomas TAGG son of John and Susannah. I think this is worth following up as Gedney is the next village to Long Sutton.
