Hi Renee I am interested in your Gt. Uncle who came to Canada as my father was in the timber business on Vancouver Island in B.C. and I do know a bit about the industry ...although the surname Redshaw is not familiar other than it being connected to you of course. Good to hear from you Linda A very old sticking point which went by the board in early research. Although being on the List for several years there was never a REDSHAW in sight or sound! It seemed they were very reluctant to move around and stay settled in a particular area. They still appear Lincolnshire in 1500s. The only two I found who actually moved out of Lincs was my late husband's Grandfather - a Groom - who went over the Humber to Selby Yorks as a groom and had a very large family - perhaps he got an offer he could not refuse. The other was a Gt.Uncle off to Canada, built a Timber business which still thrives today. Kind Regards, Renee Oz.
