Can someone please help me? I am typing marriages into Excel, and have the surname BALLANCE. Every time I enter the name it changes it to "BALANCE". How do I get it to stay as I have put it? I have already changed the format to "Text". Ann It would help if you let us know which version of Excel you have I used to have an old Excel. I can't remember which version it was possibly 2003. In this version there is a item on the toolbar called 'autotext' this automatically corrects any text you in put. I think this is what is happening in your case. You can check the auto text list and delete those you don't want auto correcting. I now have Excel 2010 and have this auto text. Mind you I do miss it at times as I used to just put my initials on and this changes to my full name. Maybe I still have it so will check when I get home Victor Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device -----Original Message----- From: "Anne Cole" <duncalf@one-name.org> Sender: eng-lincsgen-bounces@rootsweb.com Date: Sat, 24 Mar 2012 12:25:51 To: <eng-lincsgen@rootsweb.com> Reply-To: eng-lincsgen@rootsweb.com Subject: [LIN] Problem Can someone please help me?
