I've been particularly interested in the TOWEL mentioned in the "Lincsgen bastardy" thread which has been running over the past few days as Arthur TOWEL, alias Arthur LUCAN who played the character Old Mother Riley was born in the house where we live in Sibsey near Boston. I've collected various Birth & Marriage certificates as well as down-loaded census records. If anyone is researching Arthur's family they're most welcome to any of the information I've collected. According to census records Tom TOWEL ( Arthur's father ) was born at Waddingham about 7 miles from North Kelsey where the TOWEL in the previous thread was living. I couldn't help but wonder if there is a family connection. Indecently, according to 1891 census Anne aged 8 & George 7 TOWEL ( daughter & son of Tom & Lucy ) were born at South Kelsey.
