Dear Mother,    Just a few lines in answer to yours which I received tonight.  We finish our stand-off tomorrow morning.    Pleased to hear the operation was successful. Have started keeping company with a nice young lady here.  Have been introduced to the family as her fiance.  Been to tea, supper for three nights.    Our Engineer washed ashore today, both feet and one arm cut off.
